From Time Immemorial to a Melting Pot
time-immemorial-tribal-sovereignty

State and Province histories begin with stories of the distant past and then contrasts the newcomers’ melting culture of the past 250 years to that the Indigenous Peoples’ lives of 15,000 years. We apply Washington State’s Time Immemorial pathways to the resources of the Rocky Mountain Floristic Region as plants, animals … and Indigenous Peoples, do not … once did not recognize state or provincial boundaries.  We end with a study of the future because there will be a future: 1) we will solve the challenge of humans potentially destroying their nest and 2) it will be the continued melding of cultures that make America and Canada unique.  All history lessons contain references to the Indigenous Peoples, Native Plants, Native Animals, and environmental and extinction challenges (we start with wars & proxy wars) and are intended to excite the interest of elementary school youngsters, cement a lifetime interest among secondary youngsters, and provide pleasure and direction to those who live to old age.  With no apologies, we apply Washington State’s mandated inclusion of Indigenous lore with state history, making this offering different from others for the other 11 western states and provinces (with apologies to Arizona and Nevada, that hold no part of the Rocky Mountain Floristic Region). We also do not apologize for beginning with 2 topics: Homo Sapiens in the Americas and History, the Search to Live Fully Realized Lives.  Ethnobotanicals are what make our histories unique, there would be no human history of life without the food, shelter, and medicines provided by native flora and fauna.  We teach visually with remediation (for wrong answers) allowing students of all ages to learn from their mistakes.  This is the greatest gift of history to future generations, the learning from past mistakes.

This, perhaps, the 1 best recommended reference URL for the State’s History!
