Wooley Sunflower

a member of the Asteraceae Family, it grows by Kiosk 15.  Pilchuck Learning Center’s sponsored Western Washington State University SAM Project extinction possibility is slight; abundant, moist and shady, also found in the Rocky Mountains with little chance of extinction.  Lewis & Clark discovered this perennial growing above their camp on the Clearwater River.
