Edible Thistle, also called Indian Thistle, is most likely found in areas that are moist and open. Another “Indian Thistle,” also called Clustered Thistle, is most likely found in areas that are moist and shady. And then there’s the Bull Thistle. All herbs and members of the Asteraceae Family, they grow by Kiosk 05 (where planted … and on their own, elsewhere). Pilchuck Learning Center’s sponsored Western Washington State University SAM Project extinction possibility is slight; abundant, moist and shady, also found in the Rocky Mountains with little chance of extinction.
