The map below is a percentage, proportional map. Weyerhaeuser, just one of many logging companies, owns enough land to be a U.S. State. (In Canada, it controls even more acreage, but there they rent/lease … as they do from both the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.) While no one notices cattle grazing and herbicides annually applied are destroying the biodiversity left in America and Canada. Voters could change all this in one election. Isn’t it time that our governments focus on caring for the Earth and not the historical exploitation of the West’s resources?
