The Mock Orange is the State Flower of Idaho. Also called Lewis’ Mock-Orange, is most likely found in dry and open meadows; a member of the Hydrangeaceae Family, it grows by Bonhoeffer Gardens’ Kiosk 03.  The Mock Orange is found everywhere in the Pacific NW. It is a flowering shrub, an erect deciduous plant that loses its leaves. It is a food source for mallows, for West Coast Lady butterflies, and many other insects and birds. Pilchuck Learning Center’s sponsored Western Washington State University SAM Project extinction possibility is slight; abundant, native to Cascadia and the Rocky Mountain Floristic Region.
