The Wapato is also known as the Indian Potato.  Today’s potato is the “Inca Potato” since before the Spanish invasion (of a few men and horses), it was unknown … as it was unknown in the Cascadia Floristic Region.  The furthest north the Inca Potato is known to have been farmed by the Indigenous is:
