Are we humans a cancer or are we the caretakers of the planet? A physician (URL below) suggests humans on Earth now pass 20 tests of a cancer’s existence. Our ancestors never dreamed of this; we can’t blame them. For the present generation, many of us know we don’t care … and continue to be careless. Exit 215’s Farm and Gardens exist to suggest there is an alternative. We must choose, act and solve issues – not to be a killing illness. This is a 1 step at a time process, but we could start with 2 Giant Steps here in the Northwest:
- Churches, people with a God Touch in their hearts, could include a pledge in a statement of belief (Creed) that they share with others each week. Then we practice what we say, walk the walk we talk. We know people are now using the Green Creed with some now working on their own versions. Thank you.
- Publicly owned lands could be used to combat, not accelerate climate change. In Washington this would mean, over time, replanting logged DNR land for biodiversity and rewilding the State. And we know Washington State officials are now talking of this possibility (for DNR land, see previous posts below).
The physician’s URL: “When I was in medical school (cancer signs) were identified: rapid, uncontrolled growth, invasion and destruction of adjacent normal tissues — in this case, ecosystems; metastasis, which means distant colonization; and dedifferentiation … We now have 10 or 15 other new characteristics of cancer, and the human species fits all of them!” Perhaps this writer’s (older) generation cannot be convinced to act. But those who care, we should prepare the next generation. It would be so glorious … if the State of Washington were to take that first step … perhaps the second – we applaud the youth in Montana (below URL):
