Bonhoeffer Botanical Gardens’ location is at the convergence of 3 climate zones: Coastal, Puget Sound, and Cascade Mountains, allowing for collections of plants not otherwise found in botanic gardens that have but one climate. Guests enter, by invitation, under WA State’s Recreational Use Statues: RCW 4.24.200 & .210 allowing public recreational use, including nature study and viewing of scenic or scientific sites on private land. The Gardens are closed to the general public until cooperation from the adjacent Freeborn Lutheran Church is obtained and the County’s Conditional Use Permit Process is completed.
