In 1774 John Hauberg abandoned his dreams for the City of Tatoosh with its own golf course 2 miles to the east of the Gardens. The photo shows the white Bermuda sand of the sand traps spread out down each fairway. In 2024 it appears that we may have to abandon the dream of hosting a Living History Farm. The stories are different, yet they are the same. Change is difficult for the ancestry of those in northern Snohomish County. Does anyone really know why our area’s golf course and the proposed Tatoosh development abandoned with the golf course’s bunkers’ pure white Bermuda sand spread out over the fairways that were then planted over with Douglas firs in 1974?
